Sarrià · classic heritage and architectural nobility.

A respectful rehabilitation in a stately building (finca regia) in Sarrià that restores splendor to the original elements moldings, stained glass, and noble woods while integrating modern functionality with subtlety and sophistication.

Located in the historic neighborhood of Sarrià, this home stands as a testament to Barcelona’s bourgeois elegance. The interior design project focused on preserving and restoring the classic envelope, allowing light to flow through large arches and glazed partitions. The intervention achieves a difficult balance: maintaining the solemnity of the original drawing rooms while endowing the service areas with a technical and current aesthetic.

The social area is the soul of the project, defined by the recovery of geometric patterned wood floors and ceilings with ornamental cornices. A system of floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, with white joinery and paneled detailing, connects the spaces while maintaining visual fluidity. The absolute protagonist is a spectacular original leaded stained glass window, which bathes the room in light and color, acting as a work of art integrated into the architecture. The kitchen intentionally breaks with classicism through a refined design of smooth surfaces in taupe tones and dark wood. Linear technical lighting and a steel hood add an industrial counterpoint that modernizes the ensemble. In the bathrooms, the focus is on “stone luxury”: large-format marble cladding wraps the space, combined with expansive mirrors, linear sconces, and brass or chrome vanity structures, evoking the aesthetic of grand classic hotels. The entrance to the home, with its aqua-green door and wrought iron railings featuring Greek key patterns, anticipates the historic character found within.
